Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon 14" Ultrabook (New release 2012) (Economic)

New release 2012, probably deserve Best Laptop Design of 2012.

Chassis
The lid and roll cage are made of carbon fiber but it is hard to tell from matte black surface. Carbon fiber is as strong as aluminium but is third of its weights. It weighs only 1.36kg and is a skinny 1.8cm thick throughout. This makes it just 10g heavier and a millimeter thicker than the 13-inch Apple MacBook Air.

Display
The 14-inch widescreen matte display means you do not have to deal with reflection when you edit photos or presentations. Its 1600X900 pixel screen displays sharp images with good color contrast and a wide viewing angle.

Thin as a pencil ; It reflects the Lenovo teams on revolutionary notebook alongside with its competitor Acer.

Performance
This ultrabook is powered by third-generation Intel Core i5 and i7 processors with an Intel HD4000 graphics processor,a 256GB solid-state drive and 8GB of system memory.

Keyboard
The keyboard has big island-style keys whose lower edges are slightly concave, for easier typing. The backlighting of the keys adjusts to ambient light : brightening as you work in a darkened airplane cabin and dimming when the light are switched on.

Trackpad
A large glass trackpad allows you to move through the display easily. It supports multi-gestures, letting you zoom into pictures or websites to save your eyes from having to squint.

Ports
Like many ultrabooks, X1 Carbon does not offer an optical drive. But it has two USB ports (USB 3.0 and USB 2.0) , a Mini DisplayPort, SD card reader and headphone jack.

Pricing
Price ranges from $1399 to $1600
