China will be No. 1 smartphone market

 Intellectual Property (IP) disputesover the county.

Research firm IDC expects China to account for more than a quater of smartphone shipments in this year, making it the world's largest smartphone market.

The United States is no. 2 at 18 percent. China's appetite for lower priced smartphones, which IDC predicts will be prices around US$100 will help.

Looking ahead to 2016, China and the US will remain the biggest two smartphone markets, but with a smaller combined share of 37 percent compared with this year's 44 percent, according to IDC.

Gaining the market share will be India and Brazil with a combined 13 percent of the global smartphone market, up from their combined 5 percent this year.


Beware ladies-only Android malware

06 Sept- Security firm Symantec has discovered Android.Loozfon, a rare malware which targets female Android users.

Email spam, which promised the receipent money for helping to send out e-mail messaged or contact details of rich men, was used to entice woman in Japan.

Receipents tap on the e-mail or the website link that the message points to download the Android.Loozfon to the device.



The malware hides in an app dubbed "Will you win?" in Japanese. The game cannot be won but the malware will steal the contact details stored in the phone and send them to spammers.


S. Korea banned Apple and Samsung products

02 Sept- Both Apple and Samsung have infringed on each other's patents, South Korea judges have decided.

So both electronics giants are facing sales bans, reported the Washington Post. Newer devices, such as iPhone 4s and Galaxy s III, are not affected. But older iPhoned, iPads, Galaxy S and Galaxy Tab models cannot be sold there.

Samsung, the judges ruled. had copied how Apple touchscreens behave will scrolling : but Apple had infringed on Samsung's wireless technology patents.



Microsoft Logo Updated after 25years

Microsoft logo changed after 25 years of long history from 1987.
02 Sept- After a quater of a century, Microsoft has unveiled a new logo, reported Reuters. The familiar italic style in black is been replaced by a plain font in grey for the company's name and a new multicoloured square has been added.

The facelift is ahead of Microsoft roll-out of its new Windows 8 operating system, Office software suite and phone software. The last time Microsoft redesigned its logo was in 1987.



Apple has room to grow in China

02 Sept- Although the iPhone is ranked only seventh in China's smartphone market, the greater China area which includes Taiwan and Hong Kong, contribute two-thirds of Apple's revenue from the Asia-Pacific region in the second quarter of the year, reported tech website AllThingsD.

The iPhone's share of China's smartphone market is just 7.5% way behind Samsung, which owns more than 20%. Apple offers no budget model for price-conscious buyers in China. Its phone also do not support the wireless standard used by China Mobile, the world's largest Telco.
